Initiative & Background
This initiative has received funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to enhance southern Sweden's innovation capacity, focusing on cross-sectoral innovation with an emphasis on cultural and creative industries.
Timeline
Structures & Methods
This project is structured into multiple components and seeks to serve as a catalyst for transformation by leveraging established as well as trying out new innovation methods. Design Thinking serves as a core method through out the project while Scenario Examination, Hackatons and Co-Creation, for example, are all applied in unique activites.
The concept of "Cross Innovation" is relatively new and has emerged as a response to the increasing recognition that innovation can often be enhanced by crossing boundaries and bringing together ideas, knowledge, and expertise from different sectors and disciplines. While it may not have a long historical background, it is rooted in the broader history of innovation and the development of interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches.
Project Parts
Our Challenges were conducted during the first year of the project and consisted of shorter innovation labs that lasted for 2-3 days.
Each Challenge was thematically based on the smart specialization strategies of Region Blekinge and Region Skåne and was open to companies in both regions. We had 11 companies with specific needs, and a total of 38 entrepreneurs participated, of which 22 were from the cultural and creative industries.
Cross Innovation Laboratories, often referred to as Cross Innovation Labs or simply Innovation Labs, are specialized spaces or initiatives designed to foster cross-sector collaboration and innovation. These labs bring together professionals, experts, and stakeholders from various industries and disciplines to work collectively on solving complex problems, generating new ideas, and developing innovative solutions.

Mar 2024: The Future Cultural Heritage
Co-creation is a collaborative process in which we work on behalf of different Municipalities in Skåne and Blekinge with complex matters and issues. Co-Creation is based on the idea that the creation of innovation and value are most effective when the perspectives, needs, and insights of all relevant parties are actively integrated into the development process.
We provide Artists, Creators, and Design Facilitation to municipalities facing complex issues such as for example water supply, segregation, or food distribution.

In collaboration with Lund University Digital Interactive Concert Hall (The LUDICH-project)
six faculties at Lunds University, we support the exploration of technical and artistic solutions for both identifying and modifying individual sound sources, as well as spatially positioning them based on distance, angle, and height in relation to the stage. These solutions are necessary to create a digital concert hall experience where the user can enhance or attenuate individual instruments while visually zooming in on a part or detail within the whole.
This part of our project is yet to be defined. What we know, however, is that sometimes our world calls for greater experiments and bolder try-outs than ever before. With a big portion of trust we need to lean in to whatever comes and connect parts on a systemic level.
More information will come.
